An informal list of what I'm currently working on and what I have done.
The Appalachian Mountain Club, Outdoors Magazine "Editorial Intern" Fall 2016, Fall 2017 Wrote stories, edited, assisted with fact-checking, participated in pitch meetings, assisted in research, built all webpages for online exclusives and online versions of our print magazines. Worked on a three month feature piece in regards to Nature Kindergartens in the United States.
The Institute for Humane Education "Social Media and Marketing Intern" Spring 2017, Fall 2017 IHE's mission is to build a "Solutionary Generation" by introducing global issues regarding human rights, animal rights, and environmental rights into school systems at early ages and presenting them not as issues, but as opportunities to find solutions. I manage the IHE Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest account, and assisted with the Facebook account. I worked on marketing campaign for multiple IHE video launches, refined, created and built upon pages for the organization's main website, and I created images, memes and GIFs for future social media use.
NextGen Climate "Volunteer Campaign Organizer" 2016 I work alongside about five other volunteers every other week to help manage our volunteer texters as we run various climate policy-related campaigns, opposing the Trump presidency. I send out texting assignments, manage the volunteer Slack channel, answering our volunteers' questions during the campaign, and also send out texts when I am able.
The Landmark "Freelance Journalist" 2017 Beginning April 2017, I've been brought on to the Landmark team as a freelance journalist, writing pieces that stick to my interests in regards to travel, nature and conservation, but while sticking to stories that are tied to the Wachusett Regional District (Princeton, Sterling, Rutland, Paxton, Holden, MA)
TheTab "Summer Fellow," "Contributing Writer" 2015-2016 Over the Summer 2016, I was hired as a "Summer Fellow," writing a story a week for 12 weeks. Now I write with more freedom and as I think of stories. I write for "Babe," "the Tab Umass Amherst," and the "US" page. I have been writing for the the Tab since Spring 2015
The Appalachian Mountain Club "Hut Croo 2017" 2017-Presesnt Worked as part of the "croo" at the Lakes of the Clouds hut in the White Mountains of New Hampshire for the Summer and Fall 2017 seasons. Prepared meals for 90+ guests, answered questions about trails and hiker safety, offered programs on the green technology in the huts, served meals, cleaned the hut daily, and assisted with search and rescue as needed in addition to carrying food and waste product to and from the hut twice a week. The Harrington Farm "Bridal Attendant" 2010-2017 Work directly with the bride and groom and their wedding party during weddings, from prior to the ceremony to late after the reception is over. I ensure all events are happening on time, in the manner they were planned and to ensure that he bride and groom are having the wedding of their dreams.
